The fourth child of the Sultan of Johor, Tunku Laksamana of Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim, 25, passed away due to cancer at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here at 7.11pm on December 5th, reports Bernama.

Johor Council of Royal Court president, Abdul Rahim Ramli, who announced the news, said the remains of Tunku Jalil would be brought to the Istana Besar in Johor Baru tonight and would be placed at a special room in that palace.

The public have been announced that they can pay their last respect on December 6th at Istana Besar Siggahsana Room.

The fourth of six children of Sultan Ibrahim dan Permaisuri of Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris will be laid to rest at the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum in Johor Baru after zohor prayers.

Abdul Rahim said the remains would be brought by a coach pulled by the Royal Johor Military Force (Askar Timbalan Setia Johor) for a stretch of three kms through Jalan Istana Besar to the mausoleum, accompanied by Sultan Ibrahim and his other children.

Abdul Rahim said Almarhum Tunku Abdul Jalil would be buried on the right side of his grandfather Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Almarhum Sultan Ismail who passed away on January 22, 2010, at Tunku Abdul Jalil's request.

Relapse early this year

Born on July 5, 1990, he was confirmed to have suffered stage four liver cancer since December last year and had sought treatment for liver complications at a specialist hospital in Guangzhou, China.

However, Tunku Abdul Jalil was reported to have suffered a relapse early this year.

Being a cancer patient himself, he often visited patients at Sultan Ismail Hospital and Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Baharu to mingle and cheer other patients.

Following Tunku Abdul Jalil's illness, his father Sultan Ibrahim set up the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation this year to assist other cancer patients in the country.

Apart from that, Abdul Rahim said a 'tahlil' prayer would be held for three days consecutively starting tomorrow at Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque here.

All flags in the state will be flown half-mast for three days starting on the December 6th. The mourning period will be seven days for the royal family and three days for the people.

According to Abdul Rahim, Almarhum Tunku Abdul Jalil's coffin will be draped with his private flag, a police cap and his sword as he was made a police inspector.

He was also the first member of the Johor royal family to serve in the police force after completing a nine-month police training course with the rank of inspector.

Apart from that, the late prince who was also the chairman of a yacht company, Innovatige Sdn Bhd, which organised the Monsoon Cup, also played an important role in developing the sports.

Through the Malaysian Sailing League and the Youth Sailing programme in2013, the Tunku gave opportunities to thousands of youths who could not afford to experience sailing.

For his contribution to the development of sailing sports, Tunku Abdul Jalil was bestowed the 2014 President Development Award by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) last year.

Just more than 24 hours after Turkey shot down a Russian warplane on after claiming the jet had violated Turkish airspace, Moscow is already exacting its revenge — albeit subtly.

“We’re not going to wage a war against Turkey. … But we will seriously reconsider our agreements with the Turkish government,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in a press call on Wednesday, according to The Associated Press.

“Our attitude to the Turkish people hasn’t changed,” Lavrov continued. “We only have questions about the Turkish leadership.”

Turkey defended its decision to down the plane on Tuesday, contending that the plane was in Turkish airspace and had been warned repeatedly before it was shot down by Turkish F-16 jets. But Russian President Vladimir Putin said the plane was destroyed by a Turkish missile while flying in Syrian airspace, roughly a mile from the Turkish border.

By Wednesday morning, Russia had begun bombarding rebels — including Turkmen insurgents, who have ethnic ties to Turkey — in Syria’s Latakia province, ignoring demands made by Turkey over the past week to end its military operations close to the Turkish border.

Russia also announced Wednesday that it would deploy state-of-the-art S-400 missile systems to the Russian Hemeimeem air base near Latakia, Syria — 30 miles south of the Turkish border, the AP reported. The missiles, which are able to hit a plane with extreme accuracy, are evidently meant to deter Turkish jets from shooting down Russian planes in the future.

Additionally, Russia issued an official travel warning advising its citizens against visiting Turkey. And Russian travel agencies announced on Wednesday that they will withdraw their business in Turkey until next year, according to a translation by Boris Zilberman, a Russia expert at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington, DC-based think tank.

Russian tourists account for a huge portion of Turkey’s tourism industry — 3.3 million Russian tourists visited Turkey in 2014, the second-largest number of tourist arrivals after Germany and around 12% of total visitors, according to Reuters.

And in a largely symbolic gesture on Wednesday, the Russian parliament proposed a five-year jail term for anyone who denies that the mass killings of Armenians that began under Ottoman rule in 1915 constituted a “genocide,” according to an article translated by Foreign Policy columnist and Russia commentator Julia Ioffe.

Use of the word remains a charged issue in Turkey, which staunchly objects to such a characterization. Eastern Armenia remained part of the Russian Empire until its collapse in 1917.

And there is one other way that Russia could retaliate against Turkey more directly: Namely, by drawing attention to the NATO ally’s suspected ties to the Islamic State in Syria.

‘Accomplices of terrorists’

As The Soufan Group noted on Wednesday in its daily briefing, Russia “is likely to use intelligence and disinformation to highlight Turkey’s dealings with the Islamic State.”

Western officials have long harbored suspicions about Turkey’s links to the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, ISIL, or Daesh. One official told The Guardian’s Martin Chulov in July that a US-led raid on the compound housing ISIS’ “chief financial officer” produced “undeniable” evidence that Turkish officials directly dealt with ranking ISIS members — namely, by purchasing oil from them.

Separately, experts, Kurds, and even US Vice President Joe Biden have suggested in the past that Turkey has helped enable ISIS by turning a blind eye to the vast smuggling networks of weapons and fighters during the ongoing Syrian war.

For his part, Biden charged that countries like Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates were so focused on ousting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad that they did not properly vet the opposition groups to which they sent money and weapons. (He ultimately apologized.)

Turkey joined the US-led anti-ISIS coalition in late July, after a suicide bomber with links to the terrorist group killed 32 activists in the southeastern border town of Suruc. Still, lingering suspicions remained about Turkey’s commitment to fighting ISIS, as it embarked on a dual campaign to wipe out a Kurdish insurgency in its southeast.

Those suspicions were all but put to rest last month when an ISIS-linked suicide bomber killed more than 150 people at a peace rally in Ankara — the deadliest terror attack in Turkey’s recent history.

But one day after Turkey downed its warplane, Russia has already begun to bring Turkey’s murky history with the group back into focus in order to discredit Ankara’s role in the anti-ISIS coalition — and legitimize its own.

“Turkey has demonstrated that it is protecting ISIS,” Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Wednesday on Twitter, adding that the damage from “Turkey’s criminal actions … will be hard to repair.”

Medvedev was seemingly echoing a statement made by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, when he referred to Turkey as “accomplices of terrorists.”

“We established a long time ago that large quantities of oil and oil products from territory captured by the Islamic State have been arriving on Turkish territory,” Putin said from the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi before a meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah.

Lavrov added on Wednesday morning that “terrorists” have been using Turkish territory to plot attacks on other countries, the AP reported. He claimed that the Russian warplane Turkey shot down had been targeting the extremists’ oil infrastructure in Syria.

In any case, this war of words may be as far as Russia is willing to go — for now.

“Putin’s initial reaction — calling the incident ‘a stab in the back by the terrorists’ accomplices’ — is about as bellicose as could be imagined. But Putin is no stranger to harsh rhetoric, and he has broader interests to play for,” geopolitical expert Ian Bremmer, president of Eurasia Group, told Business Insider on Tuesday.

Bremmer noted, however, that the “huge egos” of Turkish President Erdogan and Putin certainly won’t help future efforts to mend Turkish-Russian relations.

The Soufan Group largely agreed.

“The most unfortunate consequence will be that Russia will now roll back from its apparent willingness to consider solutions for Syria that do not depend on Assad remaining in power,” the group said.” This is a key demand for Turkey, and in the macho world occupied by Erdogan and Putin, neither will want to appear to have blinked first.”

Singer’s theme tune to the new Bond film Spectre tops UK singles charts, beating competition from Justin Bieber

Sam Smith’s theme song for the new James Bond movie Spectre has become the first in the history of the franchise to top the charts – despite being greeted with mixed reviews.

Writing’s On the Wall soared straight to No 1 in in its first week of release with 70,000 combined sales and streams. It makes Smith the first artist to achieve a No 1 song with a Bond theme, beating his predecessor Adele whose song Skyfall reached No 2.

Of the 23 previous Bond themes, many of which have performed dismally in the charts, only Duran Duran’s 1985 track A View to a Kill matched Skyfall’s chart rating. Bond classics such as Shirley Bassey’s Goldfinger and Diamonds Are Forever did not even break into the top 20.

Smith, 23, beat off competition from Justin Bieber to get his fifth No 1 with the track. It reportedly took him just 20 minutes to write and he called it the “quickest song I’ve ever written”.

In a video accompanying the song’s release, Smith said the lyrics, were “not about me, about my life, it’s the James Bond song and it’s the first time I’ve had to play a little bit of the character”.

The London-born songwriter told Official Charts that Writing’s On the Wall making No 1 was “a special moment I’ll never forget”.

Smith said: “It’s incredible that it’s become the first No 1 Bond theme song. It’s been an unforgettable experience working with [producer] Barbara [Broccoli] and [director] Sam [Mendes] to become part of this British legacy.”

Smith’s emotionally wrought take on the Bond theme tune was greeted with a mixed response from critics and fans. The Guardian’s Alexis Petridis wrote that it sounded “less like a Bond theme song than a latterday pop ballad – the kind of thing that X Factor contestants have a crack at”.

However, the song did gain the approval of former Bond Roger Moore who tweeted: “Sam Smith has delivered a very haunting and wonderfully orchestrated #Spectre theme song. Well done!”

Some have also speculated that the lyrics, which include lines such as “How do I live? How do I breathe?/ When you’re not here I’m suffocating/ I want to feel love, run through my blood” might indicate that Spectre will showcase a more sentimental side to Bond when the film is released at the end of October.

According to Smith, however, Mendes had tweaked the lyrics to make sure Bond did not seem too vulnerable.

Despite Adele not reaching No 1 with her theme song, Smith still has quite a legacy to follow – Skyfall was widely regarded to be the best Bond tune in years.

It won the Bond franchise its first Oscar in 47 years for Best Original Song and Daniel Craig admitted that hearing Adele’s theme had brought tears to his eyes. He said: “I cried. From the opening bars I knew immediately, then the voice kicked in and it was exactly what I’d wanted from the beginning. It just got better and better because it fitted the movie. In fact the more of the movie we made, the more it fitted it.”

A survey released on the same day as Writing’s On the Wall also names Skyfall as the British public’s favourite ever Bond theme song, followed by Bassey’s Goldfinger and Live And Let Die by Paul McCartney.

Some of their attitude will make people laugh and it is just to show the real character in Malaysia daily routine.

For example, when Malaysian talk in english, they always add up 'lah' word in every sentence. If people that get used to talk with Malaysian in english, they will know their habits. We called it as Malaysian english and this type of language also sometimes will mix up with malay words. Some people said, this type of language is kind of language destroyer but for me, it shows the unique of Malaysian people. You will laugh sometime when Malaysian talk in this language because their face expression will follow the tune of words that came out from their mouth.

The other character of Malaysian is, they hate when people delaying their time. They will try their best to cut off the line but the reality is, whether you are in line or not, you still reached your destination. It is just our mistakes that did not plan our time well, But that is Malaysian people.

In driving, there is one attitude that people in Malaysia really hate is when they drive unnecessarily. Some of them, they will not use the signal light when they want to change their way. Some of them, will drive like a snake and did not alert with the other people on their back. The worst part is when they use right lane but driving slow. Instead of driving slow on left side, they rather drive slow on right lane without any shame. I bet everyone know this..hahahaha.

This are some of the culture and mind set of Malaysian that I always faced in my daily routine. Some of them will make me laugh and some of their attitude pissed me off. But what can I do, I am living in Malaysia, the country that have millions of faces and character.
